With two more attendees signing up today, we are nearly completely full. We will be closing registration soon and finalizing the numbers with Calloway Gardens. Instructors are in constant contact with us making sure everything is just right. Things are looking great for a wonderful week for all.
Just a reminder to make sure you pack for very warm weather. Mosquitos are not bad now, but bringing some spray with Deet is not a bad idea. Sun screen is also a must.
If you forget any beading supplies, we should be fully stocked at the event and we have people who can bring any needed items from The Beadcage.
Remember that there are only small convenience stores nearby Calloway Gardens. These are not in walking distance. If you need anything or have special requests such as soda or beer or wine, please let us know as soon as possible.
Comfortable clothing is a must. Although this is a luxury resort, casual is the dress code here. The only time you will need something other than casual will be on the formal night. Don't forget to bring you prized work to show off. Don't forget your bathing suits.
If you have not reserved your spa treatments, please call the hotel now to insure preferred times.
If you are coming into town early and need any suggestions or information about the area or what to do, please do not hesitate to call.
Please come prepared to relax and forget all about the rat race, the economy or any other distractions in your life. This luxury bead retreat will give you time to reset yourself. You will meet new friends and reacquaint with others. Unlike other classes and conferences, we design this retreat around the instructors and for luxury. You will have unobstructed access to them most of the time. However, please remember that they not only come to this retreat to teach, but to relax too. There will be plenty of time to interact with the instructors in class, at lunches and even in the evenings. Our classes are small by design. The small classes allow a more intimate environment. We believe that more important than the projects is the interactions you will have with the instructors at The Southern Bead Retreat. It is not about finishing the projects, but about time spent with them. Very few get the opportunity to take classes with any one of these instructors. You will have a week with five of them. Take the opportunity to learn new technique and interact with other attendees. Relax and enjoy yourself. Let us sweat the small stuff. We will be there doing our best to make sure your distractions are limited and that you have a wonderful week.
Also, instructors have been planning for this event for a year now. So much work has gone into coming up with a great projects and preparing the kits they bring with them. Even though though they are there to spend time with all of us, they must also work everyday. In order to be ready bright and smiling for each class we must all be sensitive to their needs to have time to recharge and rest during the week.
We can't wait to see y'all soon.
