You may be like me when it comes to mosquitos.  I hate them!  Sometimes they can be a real pain.  We have the old regular mosquitos, but now there are these new tiny ones.

The only thing I can suggest is to pack a small can of spray in your bag.  Make sure it has DEET in it if possible.  I use the highest concentration of DEET in mine, but then again I'm too old to be worried about gene damage.  You can get these at the local store or at a Walmart.  Just remember that if you pack it, pack it inside its own sealed plastic bag.

You never know if they will be a problem.  Just don't take any chances and pack a small bottle of spray.

Oh, make sure to bring sun screen and a hat.  It can get hot and sticky here too, so have light clothing for outside and plenty of changes cause you will get a bit wet.

Like the rest of the country, we are experiencing a heat wave.  I think it has even affected the bugs.  However, I'm expecting it to cool down some in the coming weeks.  So right now, we may want to consider bringing a fan rather than the "Off".

The best thing is that is has been cooling down in the evenings.  A nice thunder shower after lunch would be perfect so we can have some great weather to hang out at the pool or walk over to the butterfly center after class.

But if it is too hot for some, I know there is plenty of things to do inside.  Our gathering room will be a great place to hang out and work on projects and talk.  Taking a relaxing splurge at the spa is also a great idea to wind down after a day of classes.

It looks like it will be in the low 90's for the week of the retreat, but mostly sunny.  Low 90's is a break from the hotter weather we have been having.

Pack accordingly.  You will want light cotton clothing, or one of the new breathable fabrics and a hat and sun screen.  Make sure to layer with at least a sweater for the time indoors just in case it becomes too cool for you.  We use alot of air conditioing down here.  For the formal night, we will be indoors, so this is really the only time for such clothes.  All the restaurants are casual or golf casual.

Don't worry if you forget anything, their gift shop is well supplied with all the necessities.  Again, if there is anything special you will need for your room or time with us at the retreat, please let us know in advance.  If something comes up during the retreat, we will assist you then too.
